Resilient leadership starts with a question nobody is asking
There is a question I have been sitting with for years. I first asked it when I was building WOW Coaching, trying to figure.

Strong women are rarely asked if they're okay.
People assume they're fine. That they can handle it. That they don't need support. And they can. That's the problem.
Many of the women who join WOW are carrying a lot. Careers. Businesses. Teams. Families. Expectations. Decisions.
They are often the people others depend on. The people with answers. The people holding everything together.
And yet one of the most common things we hear in a WOW cohort is: "I thought I was the only one."
The only one questioning what's next. The only one feeling uncertain. The only one wondering whether something no longer fits. The only one trying to reconcile ambition with the realities of life.
Then another woman shares her story. And another. And another. Suddenly what felt isolating becomes shared. What felt heavy becomes lighter.
What felt impossible becomes possible.
This is why WOW coaching works.
Not because we give women answers. Because we create the conditions where they can hear themselves again.
The coaching matters. The questions matter. The reflection matters.
But something else happens in the room.
Women begin to see themselves through each other's eyes.
One of the things we often say in WOW is that appreciation is a wonderful thing. It makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well.
When I admire another woman's courage, I begin to recognise courage in myself. When I witness another woman's resilience, I remember my own. When I see someone step into a bigger version of her life, I begin to believe I can too.
This is the power of the pack. Not networking. Not comparison. Not competition.
Connection. Perspective. Possibility.
Of course, none of this happens by accident.
It takes skilled coaches to create the conditions where women feel safe enough to tell the truth.
Every WOW programme is led by two coaches. Partly because we genuinely enjoy working together. Partly because the experience is richer. But also because we believe something deeply.
No one becomes their bravest self alone.
Not the women in our cohorts. And not the coaches either.
Our coaches are professionally qualified, but that is only part of the story.
Before coaching, many led organisations, built businesses, navigated complex careers, raised families and lived through significant transitions of their own.
They bring experience. Perspective. Wisdom.
And an ability to hold space with care. Psychological safety is not a nice-to-have at WOW. It is fundamental.
Women cannot be courageous if they do not feel safe. They cannot reflect deeply if they fear judgement. They cannot hear themselves if they are busy protecting themselves.
So we create spaces where they can think. Reflect. Laugh. Challenge each other. Support each other.
And sometimes discover that what they needed most was not another answer. It was the experience of realising they were never alone in the first place.
Because no one becomes their bravest self alone.
More reflections from the WOW pack on leadership, sisterhood and the strategic pause.
